This Vital Outreach Going?
Amistad International needs your help. We depend on the generosity of people
like you who enable us to fund our ever-expanding outreach programs. Funds are
urgently needed for the following programs.
The Conroy F. Donesky Memorial Fund for the Huichol Indian Flying
Clinic
Needed: $36,000 to operate the 2009-2010 flying clinic including plane
maintenance, fuel, emergency airlifts, medicines, three daily meal programs
for Huichol school children.
Mongolia: The Nairamdal (friendship) Project
Needs: Achlal School for poor children: $5,000 food for one year for orphaned
students, $2,000 daily lunch for all students, $2,000 for medical fund.
$6,000 for building repair and library books.
India: Buddha’s Smile School, Varanasi
Urgent need: Computer lab, text books, medicines, night shelter for vulnerable
at-risk students.
Zimbabwe: Paula Leen’s Muwira Orphanage
Food programs and gardening/water projects.
South Africa: Lambano Sanctuary
Funds needed for operational expenses in caring for Lambano children living with
HIV+, and the children who are cared for in the new hospice.
Kenya: Amistad is one of the sponsors for Community Initiatives for Rural Development (CIFORD) in Maua, in the Eastern Province of Kenya.
Amistad helps CIFORD teach sustainable agriculture classes to women with HIV+ status, provide schooling for AIDS orphans, transportation for HIV+ to health clinics, and programs to encourage young girls to stay in school and to avoid tribal mutilation coming-of-age rites. CIFORD also works with the Kenya's Ministry of Agriculture teaching organic gardening for women farmers through composting, indigenous crops, fruit orchards and portable gardens.
